SHALISCREED
Trowel Applied Chemical & Abrasion Resistant Epoxy Screed

SHALISCREED
Trowel Applied Chemical & Abrasion Resistant Epoxy Screed

 DESCRIPTION
Shaliscreed is a 3 component abrasion resistant flooring laid with the help of steel trowel, to a thickness of 3 to 5 mm. Shaliscreed is extremely tough, durable, slip resistant and is ideally suited for areas subjected to high impact, high abrasion, forklift movement and areas exposed to chemicals and oil spillage. Shaliscreed provides excellent bond to concrete surfaces and can be incorporated in the design of new floors or as an overlay to existing floors to protect it against impact and corrosive effect of chemicals.

 AREAS OF APPLICATION
• Production Line Areas of Engineering Industries.
• Heavy Processing Plants and Storage Areas.
• Fertilizers Plants.
• Petrochemical Industries.
• Automobile Plants.
• Power Houses.
• Loading Bays.
• Bottling Plants.
• Pharmaceutical Industries.
• Paper Mills.
• Textile Mills.
• Daries & Breweries
• Effluent Treatment Plant Lining

 ADVANTAGES
• Very good resistance to abrasion.
• Excellent bond to concrete
• Very good resistance to chemicals including acids and alkalies.
• High resistance to impact load
• Durable

 APPLICATION METHODOLOGY
Correct preparation of surface is essential. Shaliscreed should be laid only if the moisture content of the floor is below 5 %. When applied over concrete, the surface must be sound, free from dust, oil, grease and other contaminants. Remove oil and grease by scarifying or acid wash or by burning followed by washing with liquid detergent. Allow the floor to dry before priming. Where there are expansion joints in the floor, these must be treated separately.

PRIMING
Surface should be bone dry prior to this application. All surface should be primed using Epoxy Primer @ 250 gms per sq.m. Mix Primer Component A & B thoroughly and apply by brush.

MIXING OF SHALISCREED
Mixing is carried out in a specially designed drum mixer or in a bucket with the help of drill mixer fitted with paddle@ 1000 Rpm. Mix Shaliscreed component A & B thoroughly with the help of mixer/drill mixer till a homogeneous mix is obtained andthen add component C slowly, ensuring complete dispersion. After adding Component C, continue mixing for 5 - 10 minutes.

LAYING
Immediately after application of primer, pour the mixed material of Shalisreed on the floor and spread it over the calculated area by using a steel trowel. Compact the material by tamping with a wooden float. Finish off by trowelling with steel trowel to a smooth finish. Anchor the screed mortar near floor to wall joints, around columns and foundations and at edges of trenches, gutters, bays & expansion joints. To ensure uniform thickness, the mixed materials should be spread out between temporary screeding bars used as shuttering. After application is completed, bars can be removed,
cleaned and reused.

COVING
Shaliscreed can be used as coving material.

FINISHING
Shaliscreed can be applied on various substrates like concrete, or kota stone, etc. To ensure that a closed surface is obtained, the screed should be sealed 24 hours after application using sealer coat or Shalipoxy FC in 2 to 3 coats. Even Shalideck SL of minimum 1 mm can be laid on top of Shaliscreed.

 CLEAN-UP
Clean all tools immediately after use with Xylene. Do not allow the material to harden.
