SHALISCREED SL - AS
Epoxy Self - Levelling Antistatic Flooring System
SHALISCREED SL - AS Epoxy Self - Levelling Antistatic Flooring System
DESCRIPTION Shaliscreed SL-AS is a multi layer system compromising of Antistatic Primer, Shaliscreed SL AS Base Coat and Shaliscreed SL AS Top Coat. The Total system gives a thickness of 3-4 mm with Antistatic properties.
AREAS OF APPLICATION The System is recommended wherever there is generation of static current. • Pharmaceutical Plants • Electronic assembly areas • Hospitals and operation theatres. • Measurement tests and control area.
ADVANTAGES • Resists build up of static electricity. • Excellent chemical resistance • Seamless, dense surface, easily cleanable and hygienic • Monolithic and joint less floor.
APPLICATION METHODOLOGY Due to the specialist nature of this product, it is recommended that installation be carried out by specialist applicators. The companies have trained authorized applicators to ensure the correct application procedures are adhered to so that the desired properties of the flooring system are achieved.
CONCRETE SUBSTRATES Correct preparation of surface is essential. Shaliscreed should be laid only if the moisture content of the floor is below 5%. When applied over concrete, the surface must be sound, free from dust, oil, grease and other contaminants. Remove oil and grease by scarifying or acid wash or by burning followed by washing with liquid detergent. Allow the floor to dry before priming. Where there are expansion joints in the floor, these must be treated separately. Overall application consists of following phases : Cutting the groove for inserting copper wire. Priming with AS Primer - Base Coating with Base Coat AS - Top coating with Shaliscreed SL-AS.
GROOVE CUTTING AND LAYING OF COPPER WIRE Cut the groove in the size of 5 mm width and 10mm depth at a distance of 1 mtr x 1 mtr lengthwise and breadth wise. At the periphery, near the wall, a distance of 6 inches should be maintained for cutting the groove. At any one end, the groove to be extended to facilitate the earthing connection. Then insert the copper wire into the groove and fill the groove with Antistatic Putty. And allow the putty to dry. After drying, grind the excessive dried putty with grinder as to level the surface. Clean the surface well and ensure that the surface is free from dust prior to application of AS primer.
PRIMING Use Epoxy Primer AS for priming. It is imperative that the contents of the two components are thoroughly premixed prior to mixing together. Mix slowly using a slow speed drill and paddle for at least 4 minutes, scrap down the sides to ensure complete mixing.
BASE COAT A three-component self levelling system which is natural black in color. Base coat should be applied after drying of the primer.
TOP COAT Top Coat is a three component self levelling system. It is available in range of colours. Top coat to be applied after drying of base coat. A gap of atleast 12 hrs should be maintained for application of topcoat. Roughening the surface of dried base coat by using emery paper is recommended for better bonding of the topcoat with the base coat. Before application of top coat the surface should be cleaned and ensure that the surface is free from dust particles. The Mixing and application methodology for top coat and base coat remains common as equal to a normal Self Levelling epoxy system.
